Ray Cleared To Practice Without Restrictions

March 13, 2006

Villanova, Pa. - Villanova senior guard Allan Ray (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's High School) was cleared to resume all basketball activities without restrictions today and is expected to participate in the team's next practice session on Wednesday afternoon.

Ray visited the same Philadelphia-based eye specialist he saw upon his return to the area on Saturday following Villanova's 68-54 loss to Pittsburgh in a Big East Tournament semifinal on Friday night. He did not return from his visit to the physician in time to participate in Monday's practice. Physicians informed him that he will not be required to wear eye goggles when he returns to the court.

Ray was injured early in the second half of Villanova's 68-54 loss to Pittsburgh in the Big East Tournament semifinal at Madison Square Garden. He is second on the Wildcats in scoring at 18.8 ppg and earlier this week was named first team All-Big East.
