VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats will host the University of Pittsburgh on Jan. 29 at the Wachovia Center, it was announced today. The venue for this Big East contest had not been determined at the time of the original Villanova schedule release earlier this month.
This brings the total number of Villanova regular season appearances at the Center to five, the most by the Wildcats since the building was opened in 1996. In addition to the clash with the Panthers, Villanova plays host to Texas (Jan. 20); Louisville (Feb. 3); Georgetown (Feb. 17); and Syracuse (March 3) in the Center.
Last season, Villanova hosted three regular season games at the Wachovia Center, twice establishing new records for the largest crowd to witness a college basketball game in the state of Pennsylvania.
ESPN will televise the game to a national audience at 7:00 p.m.
Ticket information will be released at a later date.
