Villanova University senior forward Jackie Adamshick has been named to the ESPN The Magazine first team Academic All-District II Team. By earning first team All-District honors, Adamshick will appear on the national ballot for Academic All-American distinction. Adamshick earned a finance degree last May and is currently enrolled in Villanova's MBA program.
Adamshick has started all 23 games this season and currently leads the Wildcats in scoring (14.3 ppg.), rebounding (8.3 rpg.), assists (2.4 apg.) and minutes played (34.6 mpg.). She has scored in double figures in 18 of Villanova's 23 games this season, including six games of 20+ points.
Entering play at Seton Hall on Sunday, Feb. 11, Adamshick currently ranks ninth all-time on Villanova's career scoring list with 1,322 points and she is eighth on the career rebounding list with 661.
During the fall, 2006 semester, the Villanova women's basketball team finished with the highest grade point average of all the 24 Wildcat varsity sports with an impressive 3.447 GPA. This past summer, Villanova ranked 22nd among all Division I women's basketball schools for the 2005-06 season with a 3.300 team grade point average.
