VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior forward Shane Clark (Philadelphia, Pa./Hargrave Military Academy) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier today at Bryn Mawr Hospital on his right knee to clean out loose particles. It is anticipated that he will be sidelined for 3-6 weeks.
"Shane has been bothered slightly by pain in his knee," stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "It has not prevented him from practicing. He feels it is best at this time to have a minor procedure to ensure that this problem doesn't persist during the season. He will be back quickly."
Clark averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds a game as a junior in 2007-08. Villanova opens the 2008-09 regular season against Albany at the Pavilion on Friday, Nov. 14, at 8:00 p.m.
