Villanova head coach Jay Wright...
On coaching against former assistant Billy Lange: I don't like it but honestly it is hard for us to get games and he did us a favor by coming here. In one way I'm glad it worked out for him. If you are a Navy fan or part of the program you have to feel very good about the way they came in here and played like that. I'm sure they would rather win but they have to walk out of here feeling proud. They played better than our team did. I think Dante Cunningham at the end was maybe a little more talented but they played better as a team.
On Scottie Reynolds and Dante Cunningham down the stretch: That is what we were counting on down the stretch. We weren't defending well and weren't executing offensively so down the stretch we were going to go to Dante and Scottie and run everything for them. They had to make plays, which they did, and I am proud of them for that. It is good to have a game like this when you win it. You feel the tension when they cut it to three points and they are shooting 3's. Once it gets to that point you know that this is how you get beat in games like this. They are feeling good and making 3's and you are not. You are getting open shots and missing them and the pressure is on you. It is good to experience that. I would have rather seen it in a Big East game but this is good.
Junior guard Scottie Reynolds...
On the team's defense on Chris Harris: Once a guy gets going it is hard to stop him. You see that all the time in college basketball that once he gets going it's hard to stop. If you do stop him they can make plays for their teammates but you have to worry about defending him on three-pointers or not letting him get by you. It is something we definitely have to work on and do a better job. There are no excuses about having finals, etc. We have to be prepared every time we step on the court to play Villanova basketball. You have to give credit to Navy but that is why we're here and if we don't do that we have to look ourselves in the eye and get better.
