Villanova head coach Jay Wright...

"Obviously we didn't do a lot of things well but I don't want to take away from what west virginia did. They were just great. They got into us and really pressured our perimeter people. The way we usually take that away is Dante Cunningham but he got in foul trouble early. Defensively we just didn't have an answer for desean butler."

On butler: "In the first half he was just awesome. He made tough shots and moved so well without the ball. We had to take our chances in the second half trying to catch up and there were some open shots because of that. But desean was great tonight."

On first half offense: "I think you have to credit their defense. They are long and athletic and their perimeter pressure was great."

Sophomore guard Corey Stokes...

"Desean butler came out hot. He wasn't missing any shots and was getting a lot of offensive rebounds and second chance points. He played great defense."

"They came out real agressive and they played great tonight. They were denying the wings and forcing us to drive."
