Wildcats Are No. 6 in Pre-Season Associated Press Poll

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats will begin the 2010-11 basketball season ranked at No. 6 in the Associated Press poll. This marks the third time in the last five seasons that the Wildcats have been included in the AP's pre-season top 10.

Last week, the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll was released and Villanova was at No. 6 in that ranking too.

The Wildcats - who host the University of the District of Columbia in an exhibition game on Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center - are led by a trio of seniors, including guard Corey Fisher, forward Antonio Pena and guard Corey Stokes. VU spent the entire 2009-10 campaign in the AP top 10 and finished the season with a 25-8 record.
