VILLANOVA, Pa. - After three days of grueling workouts, Villanova finished its afternoon training session on Friday with a team-building exercise. Earlier in the day, fierce competition broke out during a 3-v-3 shooting game. The team was set to have Saturday off before resuming practice on Sunday morning.
"The weather was a little less humid on Friday and 3-v-3 shooting exercise at the end of morning practice was tremendously competitive," head coach John Byford said. "We also got the players thinking and laughing with our team-building exercise at the end of the day. Everyone is working very hard and we have had three great days. Saturday is a well-earned day off for all."

During the 3-v-3 shooting game on Friday morning, Byford noted that junior midfielder Lauren McCoy (Spotsylvania, Va.) and sophomore forward Colleen Lineweaver (Alexandria, Va.) in particular demonstrated the competitive spirit of the entire team.
"The shooting game was epitomized by the sight of Lauren and Colleen, bodies entangled as the result of them both trying to win the ball, and Colleen, face down on the ground, stretching her neck to head a ball (which was also on the ground) out of bounds so Lauren couldn't get it."
