Adam's Cup Final Results

NEWPORT, R.I. - Senior Brendan Kelly (Annapolis, Md.) logged the best final round score of the entire field on Tuesday at Newport National Golf Club. He shot a 2-under 70, which placed Kelly alone in third place for the entire tournament. It was the senior's second straight top-five finish in a tournament.

Collectively as a team, VU finished in seventh place in the 17-team field with a composite score of 903 (+39).

Filling out the top five for the Wildcats were sophomore Michael Kania (Haverford, Pa.) (77-74-76--227; +11), junior Brian Colbert (Cary, Ill.) (80-79-71--230; +14), senior Conor Casey (Madison, N.J.) (77-77-78--232; +16), and junior Bret McGaughey (Laguna Beach, Calif.) (78-81-76--235; +19) which placed the individuals tied for 27th, 40th, 47th, and 55th, respectively.

Central Florida's Greg Eason won the individual championship with a 2-under 214. Central Florida also took the team title with a total score of 868 (+4) at the 7,244 yard, par-72 course.

Villanova will be back in action October 8-10th for the Big 5 Invitational in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
