- With the 2014 Progressive Legends Classic title secured, the Wildcats have now earned in-season tournament titles in consecutive seasons for the second time in program history. VU won the Philly Hoop Group Classic in 2008 followed by the O'Reilly Auto Parts Classic crown a year later. The Wildcats won the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis and followed that with this crown.

- Junior guard Dylan Ennis followed in the footsteps of James Bell, who was named Most Outstanding Player at the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis. Ennis took home the Progressive Legends Classic Most Valuable Player award after a 15 point effort that included two sensational blocked shots.

- Senior forward JayVaughn Pinkston was named to the all-tournament team at the Progressive Legends Classic. He finished with eight points and a team high nine rebounds but most critical were his go-ahead basket with 13 seconds remaining against Michigan and blocked shot on an attempt by the Wolverines Zak Irvin with six seconds left.

On the game:

"Well obviously we're thrilled to win this tournament. A really high level game at this point in the season. They're a tough team, a very well coached team, and a great defensive team. Both Michigan and VCU were two really great defensive teams. We're really proud to get this win."

On the outlook of the season:

"I really could not be happier. We made a lot of mistakes, and we can get a lot better, but we still toughed it out and found a way to get the win. JayVaughn had nine rebounds and came up with a blocked shot to win the game, as opposed to trying to score to win the game- that's what this win was about. We have a lot of work to do offensively, and we can do that, but I like where our defense has gotten this year, I feel really good about that."

On Barclays Center and Brooklyn:

"You're preaching to the choir here. Seven years at Hofstra, got a lot of Brooklyn guys, I do a lot of recruiting from here. I wouldn't be where I am without the Brooklyn guys. I love Brooklyn, and I am amazed at what this has done for this area. We're staying at the Marriott and we've been walking around down here, we were shopping, I bought cologne, the kids bought some clothes- it has always been a great area, but for everyone to see it and share in it, it's really cool. And this building is electric. There was a great Michigan crowd, and a great Villanova crowd. All the fans love being in New York around the holidays, and now Brooklyn is included in that. They've done an amazing job with this building and the tournament was great, everyone involved was great to us. We would love to come back."

On the "new" Big East Conference:

"I think this league will be strong every year. You have 10 traditionally powerful basketball programs, and basketball is the main sport at every one of those schools. It doesn't surprise we with what these guys are doing, this league will be much harder than last year. Nobody is going to win at 16-2. You have really good programs with really good coaches. I don't want to be in New York and not mention that I miss the old Big East, I do. And every time I come back it reminds me. But, in the same breath, I'm really excited about this new league. It's just pure basketball. Every night you play, every arena is just rocking, and it means the world to everybody there."

On tonight's game:

"This is my first time in this building. It was a fun experience and it felt great to win the tournament. Coach always preaches to me about defense. He tells me that scoring will come, just focus on defense and rebounding. That's what I did tonight and it helped my team."

Dylan Ennis

On tonight's game:

"I talked to coach before the game and before the tournament, and he said to focus on defense, and everything else will come. We have an attitude chart, which is the stuff that doesn't show up on the score sheet, and he told me to focus on that. We played a great Michigan team. I wanted to focus on pressuring the ball, and getting the pass. It was all just coming from my defense, as coach said."

Michigan Head Coach John Beilein

On tonight's performance:

"I told the kids in the locker room how proud we were of them. I know that's coach-speak, but it was 33-20 at the end of the first half. I sensed at that time that we had doubts if we would win the game. I'm really proud of how their spirit changed. We made a couple of shots and all of a sudden their spirit changed. We became a different team."

"We answered them score for score going down the stretch. We just couldn't get that stop. All the little things whether it's foul shooting, turnovers at the end of the first half and start of the second, those run-outs for easy baskets, we couldn't get those back and there is no defense for it. We'll learn how key they are and how to keep from having those turnovers."

On playing Villanova:

"They're hitting the open man. They have the extra pass that leads to the basket. They have really good experienced players that play with great bounce. That's the way we want to play. They're really a talented team. They're unselfish, have a post-game, great point guard and good wings. Josh Hart comes off the bench and gets four offensive rebounds today. They have the pieces in place to be a really good team."

On playing at Barclays Center:

"This was our third time here and each time has been a great experience for us."
