PRINCETON, N.J. - A sixth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay was the top result of the day as Villanova competed in seven events on the second and final day of the Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The competition for the Wildcats on Saturday featured five running events and two field events.

Villanova finished in sixth place out of 20 teams in the 4x400 meter relay and recorded a time of 3:17.37.

Individually the Wildcats had runners competing in the 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, 200 meters and 400 meters. Sophomore Joseph Messick (Montgomery, N.J.) led a group of four Villanova competitors in the 400 meter hurdles and placed 18th with a time of 55.64, while freshman Kyle Cartwright (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) was on his heels in 19th place (55.72). Junior Cory Serfoss (Easton, Pa.) came in 22nd (56.08) and freshman Peter Winslow (Stratham, N.H.) registered a personal best time of 58.29 to finish 34th overall.

Sophomore Aaron Sandifer (Harrisburg, N.C.) finished in 16th place in the 110 meter hurdles and recorded a time of 16.07.

In the other sprints junior Bryan Murphy (Teaneck, N.J.) came in 16th in the 400 meters (49.19) and freshman Ayomide Obadare (Elmont, N.Y.) was 22nd (49.52). Freshman Vince Thompson (Pipersville, Pa.) placed 26th in the 200 meters in 22.57.

Junior Matthew Sidney (Canton, Mass.) competed in the high jump and cleared the bar at 1.94 meters to tie for 13th place.

Three athletes competed for the Wildcats in the javelin, led by freshman Sean Locke (Horsham, Pa.) with a 10th place finish (50.11m). Juniors Chris Glennie (Fallsington, Pa.) and Connor Milanaik (Mendham, N.J.) placed 12th (49.90m) and 14th (47.05m), respectively.
