WASHINGTON, D.C. - After a one game interlude to complete their Philadelphia Big Five schedule, Villanova returns to BIG EAST action on Monday night when it visits Georgetown at the Verizon Center.

The Wildcats defeated Penn 62-47 on Saturday evening to complete a 4-0 campaign in the City Series. On Sunday, they journeyed south on I-95 on a chartered bus, only to encounter bus engine difficulties in Baltimore. A new bus arrived in 50 minutes to replace the original and some fast work allowed the team to shift the travel party and the accompanying gear on to the replacement bus to resume the trek.

Villanova then took part in an evening practice session at the Verizon Center ahead of Monday night's clash with the Hoyas (12-5 overall, 4-2 BIG EAST). Georgetown edged Butler on Saturday here to move within a half game of the `Cats (17-1 overall, 4-1 BIG EAST) in the conference standings.

For the Wildcats, Saturday night's victory was their 11th in a row in the City Series and head coach Jay Wright is of the opinion that the four games played each season in the round robin only serve to prepare his team for BIG EAST action.

"These games are awesome," Wright noted after the win at the Palestra. "When you look across the bottom of your television screen and you see `Villanova vs. Penn' if you're not from the northeast, you might think that the No. 5 team is playing Penn so they don't have a big game.

"But anyone in the northeast knows that you are going into the Palestra and that place is going to be sold out. We take great pride in being part of that."

While Wright acknowledged the pride his program takes in its city rivalries, it has another storied clash upon it with tonight's duel with Georgetown. The Hoyas were ranked in the top 25 earlier this season and won a pair of conference games last week over the Bulldogs and at DePaul.

"We want to learn from Penn and take that into Georgetown," stated Wright. "It's Villanova-Georgetown in a Big East game - what more do you need to say?"

In other Villanova news on Monday, junior forward Daniel Ochefu (Baltimore, Md.) was tabbed Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week after helping lead the Wildcats to the win over Penn. Ochefu recorded a new career high in points (21) to go with 10 rebounds and four assists against the Quakers.
