Wildcats in 14th place after 18 Holes in Tennessee

Jonesborough, Tenn.- The Villanova men's golf team currently sits in 14th place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, a tournament hosted by East Tennessee State University at the Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn.

Villanova turned in a first round score of 309 on Friday. The Wildcats will tee off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow for another round 18.

Junior Lucas Trim (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit) led the Wildcats on Friday after a stellar round of 70 (-2) Overall, Trim is in a six-way tie for third place out of 84 golfers.

Senior Luke Waggoner (Crystal Lake, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) opened up the tournament +1 on Friday after a first-round score of 73. Waggoner sits in a ten-way tie for 22nd place.

Sophomore Zach Egermayer (Ridgewood, N.J./Bergen Catholic) carded an opening round 81, while sophomore Andy Butler (Oakmont, Pa./Manheim Township) went +13 (85) on Friday.

Sophomore Andrew MacMillan (Scottsdale, Ariz./ Brophy Prepatory School) carded a 90 (+18).

Villanova trails 13th place North Carolina-Wilmington (304, +16) by five strokes. Penn State, VCU, and Virginia Tech all sit atop the leaderboard Friday as each team shot an opening round 289 (+1).

Charlotte is in fourth and Kent State is in fifth. Louisville, East Carolina, Virginia, Missouri, Furman, Tennessee, ETSU, UNCW, Villanova, and Coastal Carolina round out the sixth to 15th place spots.
