VILLANOVA, Pa. - With an outright BIG EAST regular season title already secured, the Villanova Wildcats (27-2 overall, 14-2 BIG EAST) get set to play their final road contest of the conference season Tuesday night at Creighton.

On Monday, the Wildcats rose to No. 4 in the Associated Press poll. The Wildcats were also ranked No. 4 the week of Jan. 19 before falling at Georgetown 78-58 in Washington, D.C. Villanova has been ranked in the Top 10 of both major polls every week since entering them on Dec. 8.

Villanova brings with it to Omaha a 10-game BIG EAST winning streak, dating to that loss to the Hoyas. The longest BIG EAST regular season winning streak in program history is 11 and that was accomplished in 2005-06.

On Saturday, VU rallied from a 40-33 halftime deficit at Xavier to post a 78-66 victory. That improved the Wildcats' road record in 2014-15 to 8-2.

Villanova head coach Jay Wright believes experience has had much to do with the Wildcats' success over the course of the regular season.

"I think that's our greatest strength," noted Wright. "We're down seven to Xavier at halftime and we don't have to adjust anything. We just tell the guys that we need to do the things we are supposed to be doing better. They just do it because they've been there before.

"On the road at places we've been like Xavier, Providence, and Butler, that's really valuable. The only guy we have playing for us who hasn't been in a lot of big-time games is Phil Booth."

This will be Villanova's second clash with Creighton (13-16 overall, 4-12 BIG EAST) this season. It posted a 70-52 victory over the Bluejays at the Pavilion on Jan. 25. The Bluejays were edged by Seton Hall 67-66 on Saturday.

Last season, Creighton posted a 101-80 victory over the Wildcats in VU's first visit to the CenturyLink Center.

"Creighton is a young team that has gotten better since we faced them and we know from experience how tough it is to play in that environment," Wright stated.

Also on Monday, senior Darrun Hilliard was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for his efforts in helping the Wildcats post wins over Providence and Xavier.

Note: There will be a special edition of Talking Villanova Basketball with Jay Wright that will air on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. from J.D. McGillicuddy's in Wayne. This replaces a show that was postponed in January due to winter weather conditions.
