OKATIE, S.C. - The Villanova golf team concluded play at the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday afternoon as the Wildcats shot 304 as a team during the final round, giving VU a 932 (+68) three-day total. Villanova finished in ninth place.

Sophomore Lucas Trim and freshman Zach Egermayer both went two-over 74 on the final day. Each finished with a three-round total of 231 (+15). The duo finished tied for 21st individually in the 45-man field. Trim went 78-79-74--231, while Egermayer went 80-77-74--231.

Junior Luke Waggoner matched his round one total by shooting 77 on Tuesday for a 234 (+18) score across the three-day event. He finished tied for 28th individually with a final card of 77-80-77--234.

Freshman Andy Butler shot a 79 for round three, bringing him to 243 (+27) for the BIG EAST Championship. Butler's three-day total amounted to 81-83-79--243.

Fellow freshman Will Byrne concluded play with a score of 82 on Tuesday. Byrne finished the tournament with scores of 87-76-82--245 (+29).

Marquette won the BIG EAST Championship to earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Championship. Marquette passed both DePaul and Xavier during the final day. The Golden Eagles shot 897 (+33) while DePaul came in second (899, +35) followed by Xavier in third (906, +42).

Seton Hall finished fourth with a total of 910 (+46). Georgetown came in fifth at 915 (+51).

Butler (919, +55) placed sixth while Creighton and St. John's tied for seventh (920, +56). Villanova rounded out the field (932, +68).

Individually, Dylan Crowley of St. John's and Patrick Sanchez of Marquette tied for individual title. Crowley defeated Sanchez on the third playoff hole to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship as an individual. Crowley and Sanchez were tied after 54 holes with a score of 215 (-1).
