Okatie, S.C. - The Villanova golf team shot 305 (+17) as a team on Monday as play was suspended due to lightning at the 2016 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championships at Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, S.C. Through two rounds, the Wildcats have a score of 616 (+40) and sit in eighth place.

Junior Lucas Trim led Villanova again Monday with a round of 73 (+1). Trim had 13 pars and three birdies on holes 2, 4, and 15. Trim was +2 on the front nine and -1 on the back nine. Overall, he sits tied for seventh with a two-round total of 146 (+2).

Senior Luke Waggoner followed it up with a round of 75 (+3). Waggoner shot 40 (+4) on the front nine, and a 35 (-1) on the back nine. The Crystal Lake, Ill. native sits tied for 20th overall at 151 (+7).

Sophomores Andrew MacMillan and Zach Egermayer totaled rounds of 76 (+4) and 83 (+11) on the afternoon to round out the top-four Villanova scorers. MacMillan sits tied for 34th overall at 158 (+14) while Egermayer sits in 41st at 163 (+19).

Sophomore Will Byrne carded a round of 81 (+9) on day two for 43rd overall (169) (+25).

When play was suspended, Georgetown was in first place and held an eight-stroke lead over second-place Xavier. The Hoyas were three over par with Xavier at 11 over par. Marquette was third at 16 over par followed by Butler (+22), Seton Hall (+23), DePaul (+24), St. John's (+29), Villanova (+40) and Creighton (+44).

Individually, Seton Hall's Lloyd Jefferson Go was the leader at eight under par. Xavier's Jose Montaño was second at two-under-par. Georgetown's Sam Madsen was third at one under par.

Round two will resume tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. along with final round action.
