WILMINGTON, Del. -

The Villanova men's tennis team (5-5) had a successful day at the DuPont Country Club against Delaware (3-7) finishing the match with a 5-2 win.

Tyler Roth and Thomas Dodson set the pace for the Wildcats right away with a 6-1 win, but Delaware came back with a 7-5 win over Luis Miranda and Will Elmore. Freshmen Stefan Suarez and Mike Czlonka clinched the doubles point for the Wildcats with a 7-6 win.

Freshman Tyler Roth continued to be a force to be reckoned with a 6-1, 6-2 win to give the Wildcats an advantage. Once again Delaware bounced back with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 win over Luis Miranda who fought hard. Freshman Stefan Suarez went into the longest match set with a 6-4, 6-7 (0-7), 14-12 win over Delaware. Fellow freshman Dylan Flanagan won his match 7-5, 6-2. Delaware would win another singles match, but Alastair Hurry finished the singles matches with a 6-2, 6-4 win.

The Wildcats moved to .500 after their win today and will play at Lehigh next on Wednesday, March 22 with a 4:00 p.m. match start.
