March 28, 2017 Final Results
Malvern, Pa. -The Villanova men's golf team ended the Wildcat Invitational with a fourth place finish. The Wildcats shot rounds of 285-291 = 576 (+8) at the par-71 White Manor Country Club. Villanova freshman Connor Daly earned co-medalist honors after carding scores of 70-69 = 139 (-3). Daly shared the top spot with Cleveland State's Patrick Luth and Lehigh's Jonny Hsu.
Lehigh won the team title with a two-day total of 570 (+2). The Mountain Hawks had been in third place after the first day of play, and they used a second round score of 284 (E) to climb up two spots on the leaderboard.
Cleveland State took second place at the event with a score of 572 (+4). They were followed by Delaware at 573 (+5). St. John's and Villanova tied for fourth place, and Navy, Fordham, Drexel, Colgate and Siena rounded out the top 10 teams.
Villanova's Lucas Trim tied for sixth place at the event, carding rounds of 70-72 = 142 (E). Andy Butler finished a few strokes behind Trim at 145 (+3) to tie for 21st place. Zach Egermayer tallied a score of 150 (+8), and Will Byrne closed the tournament at 156 (+14).
Andrew Bowyer, Connor Downey and Andrew MacMillan all competed as individuals during the Wildcat Invitational. Bowyer tied for 58th place with rounds of 77-74 = 151 (+9). Downey made his first collegiate appearance over the past two days, and he finished with a score of 155 (+13) MacMillan had a strong round of 74 (+3) in the final round, and he also carded a 155 (+13).
