Hellertown, Pa. - The Villanova men's golf team is tied for eighth place out of 19 teams after the first round of the Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational, which is taking place at the Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown, Pa. The Wildcats shot a round of 307 (+19) as a team. UConn leads the tournament, after carding a team score of 295 (+7).
Villanova senior Lucas Trim paced the team with an even-par round of 72. He is tied for third place heading into the final day of competition. Trim was followed by Connor Daly in 27th place at 76 (+4). Andy Butler shot a round of 78 (+6), and he is tied for 46th place. Andrew Bowyer and Will Byrne carded identical scores of 81 (+9), and they are both tied for 72nd place. Andrew MacMillan is competing as an individual, and he is currently tied for 10th place after shooting a round of 74 (+2).
The final day of the Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available.
