Villanova Wraps Up First Day Of Navy Spring Invitational

The Villanova men's golf team completed the first round of the Navy Spring Invitational, which is being played at the par-71 Naval Academy Golf Course. The Wildcats are currently tied for sixth place with a team score of 309 (+25).

George Mason is on top of the leaderboard after the first day of competition, after the Patriots carded a score of 296 (+12). Saint Joseph's is behind George Mason by three strokes, and St John's is four strokes from the leaders at 300 (+16).

Andy Butler and Lucas Trim led the way for Villanova after 18 holes, as each is tied for 15th place with a score of 75 (+4). Connor Daly is one stroke behind Butler and Trim at 76 (+5), and he is tied for 22nd place.

Zach Egermayer shot an 83 (+12) in the first round, and Connor Downey finished with an 86 (+15)

The Wildcats will look to move up the leaderboard in the final round of the Navy Spring Invitational, which will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m.
