Villanova Finishes Play At The BIG EAST Championship

- The Villanova men's golf team finished play at the BIG EAST Championship Presented by Jeep on Tuesday afternoon. The three-day event took place at the par-72 Callawassie Island Golf Club. Villanova placed eighth at the tournament with a team score of 322-303-316 = 941. Marquette (899) edged Seton Hall (900) by one stroke to claim the title, and Georgetown finished in third place at 901. Marquette's Matt Bachmann earned medalist honors, after shooting an even-par 216.

In the final tournament of his collegiate career, senior Lucas Trim led Villanova with an 11th place finish, firing rounds of 80-73-74 = 227 (+11). Connor Daly carded scores of 81-73-77 = 231 (+15) to tie for 19th place, and Zach Egermayer tied for 34th place with rounds of 83-78-80 = 241 (+25). Andy Butler ended up one stroke behind Egermayer to tie for 38th place, and Andrew Bowyer finished the event with a 42nd place finish.
