Orlando, Fla. -- The Villanova Women's Rowing team wrapped up a successful week of training at the Rollins Invite in Orlando, opening competition for the Spring season. The Varsity 8+ lineup of Ellie Cayer (cox), Hailey Hurteau, Morgan Mroz, Amanda Miller, Lizzie Hagerty, Briggs Mroz, Eryn McCassey, Haley Gagnon, and Maya Grimm placed second to Duquesne with a time of 6:50.6, just ahead of host Rollins College and Stetson.

The Villanova 2V8+ finished first with a time of 7:04, a length up on Duquesne, with Stetson and Rollins finishing third and fourth.^. The Wildcats also collected first place finishes in the 3V8+, Freshman 8+, and Varsity pair events. Both the V4+ and 2V4+ finished third in their respective races. The Wildcats look forward to this coming weekends race downriver on the Schuylkill against LaSalle and CAA conference rival Drexel.
