Villanova, Pa.- Villanova women's soccer will open home play on Wednesday, August 22^nd when they host the James Madison Dukes.  Kickoff is set for 4:00 P.M. at Higgins Soccer Complex and can be seen on Nova Nation All-Access. 

A Look at Villanova:  The Wildcats enters the weekday matchup with a 1-1 record.  Villanova defeated LSU on Sunday afternoon in overtime 2-1 on a golden goal by sophomore Bri Austin in the 93^rd minute.  This earned the sophomore forward BIG EAST Weekly Honors.  Joining her on the honor roll was freshman keeper Hensley Hancuff, who during her first collegiate weekend earned seven saves in just over 182 minutes of action.  Junior transfer Kristen Vinciguerra also netted her first goal of the season against the Tigers.  Vinciguerra's came in the opening seconds of the second half of play on a pass from Chloe O'Neill. 

The Wildcats fell in the season opener to Lafayette, 1-0.  Austin led the Wildcats on offense against the Leopards taking a team high four shots while placing two on goal.

A Look at JMU:  The Dukes are also 1-1 and are coming off a 3-0 won against Maryland in the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Invitational they hosted.  JMU opened the season against Dayton and fell 2-1. 

Leading the offense in the early season has been junior forward Haley Crawford who has a team high four points.  She netted one goal against Maryland and assisted on the two others of the match.   Ginger Deel, Abby Maltese, and Lizzy Lazzaro have all netted a goal this season with Deel also dishing out an assist.  Hannah McShea played all 180 minutes in between the posts last weekend.  She currently boasts a .800 save percentage and has eight saves over the first two games.
