Saturday Night Football Highlights Family Weekend Schedule

Five home athletic events will be among the events held on campus this weekend

VILLANOVA, Pa.—Family Weekend at Villanova kicks off Friday afternoon on campus and there are several home athletic contests that make up a busy and exciting schedule of events.  Highlighting the athletic slate is the football game against Bucknell presented by Bryn Mawr Hospital on Saturday evening at 6 p.m.  The weekend schedule also includes home field hockey at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken on Friday evening, a soccer doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Higgins Soccer Complex and a home volleyball match in Jake Nevin Field House on Saturday at 2 p.m. 
 
Prior to the football game, the Family Festival will be taking place on Riley Ellipse and Campus green from 3 p.m. until kickoff.  The festival features food, beer, wine, giveaways and carnival entertainment.  Complimentary snacks will be available for families attending the festival.  All visitors to campus are being directed to park in the I-1 garage located on the South East corner of Ithan Avenue and Lancaster Avenue.
 
Below is the schedule of home athletic events taking place this weekend. 
 
FRIDAY, September 21
 
Field Hockey vs. Liberty
6pm / Proving Grounds / 725 Conshohocken Road, Conshohocken, PA 19428
 
Villanova is back in action on Friday night when it hosts a BIG EAST matchup against Liberty beginning at 6pm.  Friday is National POW/MIA Recognition Day and it will be Military Appreciation Night at the field hockey game.  Members of the VFW Post 1074 from Conshohocken will be in attendance and will be recognized for their service during the game.
 
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
 
Women's Soccer vs. Providence
1pm / Higgins Soccer Complex / West Campus – intersection of North Spring Mill Road and North Road
 
The women's soccer team opens conference play on Saturday afternoon against Providence at the Higgins Soccer Complex.  Saturday's game is a Lottery Bonus Points Game and students attending the game will earn 10 points towards the men's basketball ticket lottery.  Concessions are available for purchase during the game, with hot dogs, sausages, snacks and drinks prepared on site.  Prize cards are being given out at the game and youth fans in eighth grade and below will receive a prize.  Villanova will also hold an autograph session after the game at the main entrance across from the home team bench.
 
Volleyball vs. Georgetown
2pm / Jake Nevin Field House
 
Villanova continues BIG EAST play when it hosts Georgetown in Jake Nevin Field House at 2 p.m.  It is the second home match of the week for the Wildcats, who opened their conference schedule with a 3-1 win over Seton Hall on Wednesday night.  Villanova is currently 8-5 on the season and 1-0 in BIG EAST play.  Concessions are available during the match and can be purchased at the stand located behind the bleachers on the west side of the building (opposite side of the team benches). 
 
Men's Soccer vs. Creighton
4pm / Higgins Soccer Complex / West Campus – intersection of North Spring Mill Road and North Road
 
A key stretch of games for the men's soccer team continues on Saturday afternoon when the Wildcats host No. 12 Creighton in a BIG EAST battle.  Villanova is currently 5-2 on the season and will play in the second half of Saturday's soccer doubleheader on West Campus beginning at 4 p.m.  Concessions are available for purchase during the game, with hot dogs, sausages, snacks and drinks prepared on site.
 
Football vs. Bucknell presented by Bryn Mawr Hospital
6pm / Villanova Stadium
 
Kickoff is schedule for 6 p.m. as the football team takes on Bucknell in its second straight home game.  Villanova is 2-1 on the season and ranked No. 15 in the country, with Saturday's game the final non-conference tilt on the regular season schedule. 
 
Tickets
Tickets to the game are still available and can be purchased online by clicking here.  Villanova Athletics will issue a complimentary ticket to students who wish to sit with their families at the game.  Student tickets must be requested online in advance of the game or at the box office on game day, subject to availability.  Students will need to present both their designated ticket and Wildcard at the gate.  General admission tickets are on sale for $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for youths age 12 and under. 
 
Wildcat Walk
Arrive early before the game and don't miss the Wildcat Walk which takes place in the A-2 parking lot at 4 p.m.  The band, cheerleaders, dance team, kickline and twirlers will lead the Wildcats through the A-2 lot as they make their way to the locker room before the game.  The route of the Wildcat Walk will proceed from the access road in front of the Pavilion through the A-2 lot and into Villanova Stadium.
 
Villanova Football Beer Garden
The beer garden is located in the west end zone and will be open from 4:30 p.m. until the end of the third quarter.  Beer and wine spritzer selections are available for purchase.  Alcohol sales are limited to this space, and beer and wine cannot be brought into the stadium seating areas.  Cash and credit/debit cards will be accepted for beer garden sales.
 
Concessions
In its familiar spot in the east end zone, the concession stand has a brand new menu with fresh food prepared on site.  Menu options include cheesesteaks, bratwursts and pulled pork sandwiches in addition to hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and other snacks.  All forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards and Nova Bucks will be accepted. 
 
Digital Gameday Program
The Villanova Football game day program has gone digital and is available at Villanova.com and for free download on the Villanova Athletics mobile app. 
 
Ridesharing Drop-Off/Pick-Up Location
The roundabout near Galberry Hall on the east side of Villanova Stadium is the dedicated drop-off and pick-up location on game day.  Fans coming to the game via a ridesharing service or who are being dropped off and picked up will have their rides directed to this location. 
 
Villanova Football Club Tailgate
The Villanova Football Club will be hosting a pregame tailgate in the A-2 parking lot.  The tailgate is open to all Football Club members and will take place from 3 p.m. until kickoff.  The Villanova Football Club helps to ensure the ongoing success of the Villanova football program by providing important financial support for key initiatives and enrichment opportunities for Wildcats student-athletes.  Click here for more information on joining the Villanova Football Club. 
 
Villanova Football Gameday Donor Reception
Champions Club level donors to Villanova Athletics are invited to the Villanova Football Gameday Reception hosted by the Villanova Athletic Fund.  The reception will be held in the O'Dea Terrace Lounge in the Andrew J.
