Villanova Athletics Inducts 133 Student-Athletes to Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society

Villanova is the Pennsylvania Alpha Delta Chapter of national academic honor society for collegiate student-athletes

VILLANOVA, Pa.—An elite group of 133 student-athletes from Villanova Athletics has been inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma, the national nonprofit academic honor society for collegiate student-athletes. Villanova is the Pennsylvania Alpha Delta chapter and this year's group of honorees forms the 2025-2026 Villanova induction class.

The criteria for induction to Chi Alpha Sigma requires that the student-athlete must attend a four-year accredited college or university that is a member of the NCAA or NAIA. The honoree also must be a junior or senior academically and have achieved a minimum cumulative grade-point average of a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).

Villanova inductees to Chi Alpha Sigma will be formally recognized during their senior year at the Villanova Athletics Student-Athlete Recognition event held prior to graduation. Graduating seniors will also receive Chi Alpha Sigma honor cords from Villanova Athletics to wear at Commencement in acknowledgement of their achievement.

Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization that was established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. The organization was founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach Nick Mourouzis. His goal was to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
