RUMSON, N.J. -  The Villanova women's rowing team opened their fall season at the Rumson Boat Race. The Wildcats competed against Army West Point, Drexel University, Rutgers University and U.S Coast Guard Academy.

The women's varsity 8 placed second in front of Army West Point. While the JV 8 placed third in a tight race down the race course on the Navesink River.

Villanova returns to action on Sunday September 30th for the Kings Head Regatta in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania.
