Malvern, Pa. – The three-day tournament hosted by Villanova wrapped up Sunday afternoon. Villanova finished in seventh place.
Appalachian State won the tournament by eight strokes finishing at +12. Delaware, Georgetown, VCU, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Villanova followed the Mountaineers.
Freshman
Matt Davis had a great round three finishing the day at -1. He totaled six birdies on the day.
Connor Daly finished the day +1, while
Jack O'Hara finished at +3,
Mark Benevento finished +4, and
Reb Banas finished +7.
In the individual tournament
Danny Dougherty finished at +7 on the day and
Connor Downey finished at +15.
Connor Daly finished the tournament tied for fourth place (+3) just one stroke back of the lead.
Mark Benevento finished tied for seventh (+4), just one stroke behind teammate Daly. Davis finished tied for 20
th with a score of +8.
Benevento had the best single round out of any golfer in the tournament during round two when he shot a 66 (-5). The second-best score of any round was a 69 (-2) by Appalachian State's Logan McNeely in round one, and Delaware's Jack Melville in round two.
Villanova will be back in action October 12
th for the three-day Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate hosted by East Tennessee State.
