VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villaonva has been a regular in the Associated Press Top 25 over the past six seasons - a period during which the Wildcats have averaged 31.8 victories and a pair of NCAA national titles - and the Wildcats are part of the first rankings of 2019-20.
Villanova is at No. 10 in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25, announced on Monday.
The Wildcats are one of three BIG EAST teams in the poll. Also included are Seton Hall (12) and Xavier (19). Marquette, Georgetown, Creighton and Providence all received votes.
The college basketball sesaon begins on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Villanova hosts Army at 8:30 p.m. at the Finneran Pavilion. In their second game of the regular season, Villanova visits No. 18 Ohio State on Nov. 13 as part of the Gavitt Games.
