Villanova fell to 3-6 and 0-3 in BIG EAST play with Friday night's 3-1 loss to Providence (6-4, 2-1).
 
The Friars got on the board early, with an unassisted goal from Amanda Collins.

The Wildcats evened things at 1 a piece before halftime with a goal from junior forward Emily Clarke, assisted by junior midfielder Riley Dolan.
 
Three minutes and 14 seconds into the third quarter of the game, Providence went up by 1 after a goal from Niamh Gowing.
 
The last scoring play of the game came with less than 12 minutes left to play, with a goal from Friar Maddie Babineau, assisted by Corinne Kenney.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan McGinley had a strong performance in the game, making 9 saves.
 
The Friars had a 13 shot advantage in the game, finishing with 19 compared to six from the Wildcats.
 
Providence also had eight penalty corners compared to Villanova's seven.
 
The Wildcats are back in action at The Proving Grounds on Sunday when the team takes on Bucknell.
