Softball Adds Lauren Quense as Director of Operations

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova today announced the addition of Women's Sports Foundation (WSF) VanDerveer Fellow Lauren Quense as the Villanova Softball Director of Operations. Quense is a Langhorne, P.A. native who completed a decorated career at Fordham University and previously served as an assistant coach for the Wildcats during the 2018-19 season.

"We are so excited for the opportunity to have Lauren back on staff helping bring Villanova Softball to the next level of success" head coach Bridget Orchard said. "We have big plans that include renovating our facilities, including a turf outfield, batting cage enhancements, a new scoreboard and improving the overall player/fan experience. Our vision is for Villanova Softball to consistently play in the postseason and Lauren will be a major part of making that happen. She will work heavily with mentoring and team building activities, and will assist with fundraising and alumni event initiatives. Lauren brings with her professional marketing experience and was part of five Atlantic 10 titles as a player. Lauren knows how to win and has the passion and drive to bring success to Villanova Softball."

Quense finished her Fordham career with 125 appearances, 102 starts, 500 innings pitched, 48 wins, 328 strikeouts, and 37 complete games, ranking in the top-five in each category in Fordham history. She has played in the second-most games of any Ram in Fordham history (241) and has made the sixth-most starts (229).

Villanova (29-24 overall, 9-8 BIG EAST) advanced to the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament championship game in Orchard's first season as head coach at her alma mater after an accomplished 17-year run at Fordham.
