CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Villanova softball team is set to play in its second tournament of the season, going down to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete in the Queen City Invitational at Charlotte Friday through Sunday.
The 'Cats (0-6) come into the weekend seeking their first win of the season.
Villanova starts the weekend against Virginia Tech (5-0) Friday, who are fresh off beating No. 14 South Carolina twice. The 'Cats matchup with the Hokies begins at 10 a.m.
VU then rounds out Friday with a matchup against hosts, Charlotte (3-2) at 3 p.m. to round out its first day in North Carolina.
Saturday will see the 'Cats play Virginia Tech for the second time in the weekend with first pitch once again set for 10 a.m. before taking on Michigan State (4-1) at 12:30 p.m.
Villanova closes the weekend Sunday at 12:30 p.m. with a second matchup against the 49ers.
Heading into the weekend, VU is led by
Madison Ostrowski at plate, who picked up four hits and an RBI last weekend.
Maddie Burrows is second in hits on the team after a 3-12 opening weekend at the plate for the senior.
