Villanova Golf Wraps Up Fall Season at City 6

Huntingdon Valley, Pa. – Villanova golf wrapped up its fall season with a fifth place finish in the one-round City 6 Tournament at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Drexel took home the team title at 10-over, led by Connor Schmidt's 1-under for the individual crown.

Villanova shot 315 on the day. The Wildcats were led by freshman Matt Minerva's 77. Minerva's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 15th, the only eagle on the course the entire day.

Jack O'Hara was just behind Minerva with a 78. O'Hara picked up a pair of birdies on the day, one on the 15th, another on the par-four first. O'Hara started out strong and  made the turn at 2-over, but the back nine was not as kind, where he had a pair of double bogeys.

Matt Davis was third for the Wildcats with an 80. Davis had an up-and-down back nine, with just two pars, but did notch a pair of birdies on the back as well.

Luke Alexander also carded an 80 on the day to round out the scoring for the Wildcats. Alexander got off to a shaky start, going 7-over on the front, but settled in for a much cleaner 3-over on the back nine to carry into the break.

Villanova will now take time off for winter break, and will return to action in February.
