Kristin Barbour (Superior, Colo.) has been named to the 2019 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Soccer Team. The winners of this award best exemplify academic success as well as accomplishments on the field.
As of the spring semester, Barbour has maintained a superb grade-point average of 3.98, while majoring in Biology.
Barbour served as a team captain for the third straight while helping the Wildcats reach the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals for the first time since 2004. Villanova also had their first double digit win season since 2009. During her senior season Barbour finished with five points on two goals and one assist. In Barbour's four years she started in all 70 games and finished with 40 points on 12 goals and 16 assists.
Winning the Performer of the Year is Nicole Weenink from Eastern University. Joining her on the All-Area team was Barbour, Penn State Brandywine's Brianna Banks, Saint Joseph's Erica Behr, Swarthmore's Sydney Covitz, Arcadia's Brianna Crowley, Haverford teammates Kendra Griesman and Leanne Ludwick, Cabrini's Marissa Portelli, Penn's Kitty Qu, and Jefferson's Erin Tinneny.
