Brice McInroy Named to 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s All-East Region Third Team

Villanova, Pa.- Sophomore forward Brice McInroy was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-East Region Third Team on Friday afternoon.

"Extremely excited for Brice to receive this prestigious honor," said head coach Chris McLain. "She deserves it. She will be the first to tell you she couldn't of done it without the players pushing her every single day. She has had great players around her that helped her achieve this."

McInroy this season was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team; she was the first Wildcats to earn a spot since 2011.  The sophomore led the team with 20 points and netted five game winning goals this season.  McInroy finished the season scoring a total of nine goals and dished out two assists with five of those goals coming in BIG EAST play.

This season McInroy helped lead the Wildcats back to the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2014.  Villanova earned the #4 seed and hosted #5 DePaul in the quarterfinals and picked up a 1-0 to advance to the conference semifinals.  This was Villanova's first trip to the BIG EAST Semifinals since 2004 and their first double digit win season since 2009.

McLain continued, "we don't finish 4th in the Big East because of just one player. She would be the first one to want to share this award with her teammates as they all continue to strive to be the league's top team. Brice has been a massive addition to the team, but right now she is ready to move forward with her teammates and help this team go where they haven't been before. That's just who she is."
