VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova men's tennis team fell to St. John's 4-0 but then beat Wilkes University 6-1 on Saturday afternoon on Villanova's West Campus Courts.
In the morning match, St. John's won the doubles point by winning on courts two and three. Villanova's duo of Tyler Roth and Thomas Dodson won 6-2 from court one.
In singles play St. John's won on courts five, six and then one to clinch the match.
Later in the afternoon against Wilkes, the Wildcats won all three doubles matches. Tyler Roth and Thomas Dodson won 6-2 on court one. Stefan Suarez and Dylan Mulflur won 6-2 while Matthew Jones and Colin Klumb won on court three 7-6 (8-6).
On the singles court Villanova won five of the six matches. Dylan Flanagan led the Wildcats off with a 6-1, 6-0 win from court four. Tommy Mulflur defeated Greenman 6-0, 6-0 on court five and Daniel Martinez clinched the match by winning on court six 6-0, 6-0.
Villanova will conclude their regular season tomorrow against Rider at the West Campus Courts and the match will start at 3:00 p.m.
