CAYCE, S.C. - The Villanova men's tennis team was defeated by the Butler Bulldogs in the BIG EAST Tournament at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center. Villanova finished the season with a record of 12-12 and 1-5 in BIG EAST play.
Butler got the opening point by winning all three doubles matches. The Bulldogs then won the first two singles matches to lead 3-0.
Thomas Dodson got Villanova on the board by defeated Aviv Ben Shabat 6-1, 7-6 (4) on court three.
On court two,
Tyler Roth came back and won 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to make it 3-2 Butler.
Butler won on court five to clinch the match 4-2 for the Bulldogs.
