Queens, N.Y. – After splitting a double header on Saturday, St. John's was able to win the series Sunday by a score of 12-6.
After two scoreless innings,
Angela Giampolo hit a two-run home run that would score
Megan Ruiz, and would be her fourth home run of the season.
The Red Storm would waste no time striking right back in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run of their own.
A
Caroline Jones RBI single,
Julia DaCosta sacrifice fly, and
Becky Ducar's RBI single would in the fourth inning would put the Wildcats ahead 5-2. St. John's would answer right back again with a seven spot in the fourth to take a 9-6 lead.
DaCosta would come through with another RBI in the top of the fifth, but St. John's would get a three-run home run in the bottom of the inning to take a 12-6 lead which would turn out to be the final score.
Villanova will be back in action on Wednesday at home against Lehigh with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM.
