Tennis Falls to Georgetown 4-3

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova men's tennis fell to the Georgetown Hoyas 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the West Campus Courts. The Wildcats lost the doubles point and then split the singles matches against the Hoyas.

Head coach Bradley Adams on the match, "An unbelievable match today and the our men really battled.  I was very impressed with (Stefan) Suarez's effort as he is starting to find his game at the right time.  Although the final result did not go our way I am very confident that we can use the learning moments from this match to keep improving and getting ready for the conference tournament."

In doubles play, the Hoyas won on courts two 6-4 and on court three 6-3 to win the opening point. 

The Wildcats rallied back in singles play as they won the first three singles matches to lead 3-1 over Georgetown. 

Stefan Suarez got the first point for Villanova, he won on court two, 6-1, 6-2.

Thomas Dodson followed by winning in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 from court three.

On court four Dylan Flanagan won a three set thriller, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to give the Wildcats a 3-1 lead.

The final three matches went three sets and were all won by Georgetown to give them the 4-3 win.

Villanova's next match is Wednesday April 10th at 3:00 p.m. against St. Joseph's on the West Campus Courts
