Villanova, Pa.- Opening the season with a 1-0-1 record, the Wildcats earned regional recognition as Villanova was ranked 7^th in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll, announced on Tuesday.

Villanova started the 2019 season off with a 1-0 victory over #24 LSU thanks to a goal by sophomore Chloe O'Neill.  On Sunday Villanova played to a 1-1 draw with Saint Joseph's as senior Kristin Barbour netted the Wildcat goal.

The Wildcats are one of four BIG EAST team to earn regional recognition this week as it joins Georgetown (1), Butler (3), and Xavier (5).

This weekend Villanova will travel to the state of Oregon to take on the Oregon State Beavers on Friday night followed by the Oregon Ducks on Sunday.  This will be the first meeting between the Wildcats and both teams.
