Villanova, Pa.-
The Villanova Wildcats will travel to the state of Oregon to take on the Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks for the first time in program history over Labor Day weekend.

In the opening weekend the Wildcats went 1-0-1 at Higgins Soccer Complex.  Villanova opened the season with a 1-0 win over #24 LSU on Thursday afternoon and on Sunday had a 1-1 draw with the Saint Joseph's Hawks.  In the first week of the USC East Region Poll Villanova was ranked seventh.

Sophomore transfer Brice McInroy set up fellow classmate Chloe O'Neill for the first goal of the Wildcat season.  Kristin Barbour scored the game tying goal on Sunday on a free kick just outside the box that went through traffic and found the back of the net.

This week goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors after registering a shutout victory over 24th-ranked LSU on Thursday. The sophomore made five saves against the Tigers, playing all 90 minutes. In Sunday's 1-1 double-overtime draw with Saint Joseph's, Hancuff made two saves to pick up the draw. For the week she posted an .875 save percentage and 0.45 goals against average, both tops among BIG EAST keepers.

A Look at Oregon State: The Beavers defeated Portland State to open the season, the first victory for their new head coach, Matt Kagan.  Six different players pick up points in the three goal victory; Abby Schwartz, Sydney Studer, and Mckenzie Weinert were the goal scorer in the Saturday afternoon match.

A Look at Oregon: The Ducks went 0-1-1 in the opening weekend, play both games on the road.  To open the season Oregon took on Fresno State and drew 2-2 on Thursday night.  On Sunday the Ducks fell 4-1 to Santa Clara.  Before the Wildcats go to Eugene the Ducks will host Portland State on Friday night.
