Rebecca Gartner both were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after both helping the Wildcats open BIG EAST play with a 1-0 win over Xavier.
McInroy scored the game winner during the conference opener in the 57
th minute. The sophomore picked the pass from her defender and was able to draw the keeper out of goal to get a clear shot off. This was McInroy's third game-winning goal of the season, which ties for the most in the BIG EAST.
Gartner had five big saves against the Musketeers to pick up her second straight shutout of the season. The keeper made four of the saves in the second half including two direct shots back-to-back in the 55
th minute. The graduate student now boasts a 1.00 save percentage and 0.00 goals against average in conference play while in over 438 minutes of action all season a .765 overall save percentage and 1.64 goals against average.
The Wildcats will host the Georgetown Hoyas this Thursday at 4:00 P.M. at Higgins Soccer Complex. The game can also be been on BEDN.
