New York, N.Y. -Senior Connor Kirst and redshirt junior Patrick Kennedy earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors after helping the Wildcats to a 2-0 week.  On Tuesday Villanova defeated No. 4 Maryland at home 13-12 and on Saturday took down Hofstra 10-8 on the road.

Kirst tallied nine points in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats with six goals and three assists. Kirst had back-to-back hat tricks in wins over then-No. 4 Maryland (13-12) and Hofstra (10-8). In the win over Maryland, Kirst scored his five goals in 10 shots, six on goal, assisting on two of the goals. Kirst scored the third, eighth and ninth goals for VU against the Terps and assisted goals 12 and 13 to help the Wildcats take a 13-8 lead. Against Hofstra, Kirst scored the third, fifth and eighth goals, his last putting VU up 8-5.

Kennedy had six caused turnovers and eight ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats which included wins over No. 4 Maryland, 13-12 and on the road at Hofstra, 10-8. In addition to Kennedy helping Villanova hold opponents to 10.0 goals last week, the defender also helped on the offensive end. He netted a breakaway goal against the Terps to put VU up 6-5 with 5:12 left in the first half.

Villanova will travel to Newark, Delaware to take on the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday.  Game time is scheduled for 12:00 P.M.
