Men's Lacrosse Earns Trio of BIG EAST Awards After Conference Opener

Luke Raymond picks up Offensive Player of the Week, Beau Kemler and George Glomb selected to Honor Roll

NEW YORK -- Following up a 21-7 drubbing of St. John's in the team's BIG EAST opener on Saturday, a trio of Wildcat men's lacrosse players were selected on the league's weekly awards. Luke Raymond picked up Villanova's first Offensive Player of the Week honor this year while Beau Kemler and George Glomb each earned selection to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Raymond was named the league's top attacker after he scored a career-high seven goals in the 21-7 victory at St. John's on Saturday, marking his seventh multi-goal game of the season. It's the first seven-goal game for a Wildcat since Matt Campbell in 2022 and shatters Raymond's previous career high of four in a game. The graduate student scored four goals in the second quarter alone and managed as many goals in the contest as the entire St. John's team.

Kemler earned his second career honor roll accolade after scooping up a season-high eight ground balls at Belson Stadium this weekend, now accounting for three or more GBs in each of his five games played this season. It was the most ground balls in the game by a non-FOGO and marked the second time in his career that the defenseman has picked up eight or more, following up a 10-GB game last year at Denver.

Glomb won a career-best 17 faceoffs in the conference opener to pick up his first ever BIG EAST honor, hoovering up nine ground balls after going nearly 75% on his 23 faceoffs on Saturday. It was the most faceoff wins for a Wildcat this year by a wide margin (four), surpassing a 13-win day from a different FOGO a few weeks ago.

Raymond, Kemler, Glomb and the Wildcats return home this weekend for another conference matchup, hosting RV Denver on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. from Villanova Stadium.
