For more than 50 years Villanova has been on a mission to empower women. This year
help empower HER.
Launched in September 2019, the Villanova Athletics Women's Empowerment Initiative is a year-long celebration aimed at showcasing fearless, strong, extraordinary women. It's an initiative that is meant to honor the countless female student-athletes, both current and future, who are forging their own path, changing the world, writing their own rules and dreaming BIG. It's meant to tell the stories of
cancer survivors, business owners,
world travelers, executives, community leaders,
Olympians.
This initiative will continue to highlight student-athletes who have walked Villanova's hallowed halls and pushed themselves to achieve greatness both on and off the field. The year-long celebration will continue to highlight stories that feature women from the past 50 years, underlining how Villanova has helped them get to where they are now.
On Monday, Villanova Athletics and the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women's Leadership will co-hosted a breakfast for all female-student athletes in support of National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). The Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women's Leadership fosters women's advancement through education, advocacy, community‐building and the collaborative creation of new knowledge

- Renovation and updates of locker rooms and playing fields
- Elevation of part-time coaches to full-time coaches
- Enhancement and growth of women's athletic endowments
- Increase of operational budgets, allowing for increased travel amongst the women's programs
