VILLANOVA, Pa. – Prior to the start of the 2020 softball season,
Paige Rauch was designated as one of Softball America's Top 100 College Players, coming in at No. 50. Although the season was shortened, the junior showed enough in 27 games to climb the rankings. In Softball America's Shortened Season College Top 100, Rauch came in at the No. 24 spot. She is the only player from a non-Power 5 school in the Top 25, and one of only two such players in the Top 100.
Rauch finished the season atop the the nation in home runs with 12, and third in the country with 76 total bases. She also ranked in the country's top 20 in slugging percentage (.905) and RBI (28). She did all of that while also ranking fourth in the NCAA in wins with 12, and leading the BIG EAST in strikeouts with 97, a mark that ranks 24th nationally.
In addition to leading the conference in that category, Rauch also topped the BIG EAST with 27 runs scored, 34 hits and 28 RBI. She led the conference in total bases, but also had top marks with an ERA of just 2.25 in 90 innings of work. The junior also recorded her first no-hitter during the season, going seven innings against Florida Atlantic in a 5-0 victory.
