Wildcat Baseball Posts Big Numbers During Shortened Season

Villanova, Pa. – At the end of an unfortunately short spring season, the Villanova baseball team had left its mark on both the conference and national statistical leaderboards.

Throughout the 14-game season, the pitching was stellar. The Villanova pitching staff led the BIG EAST in:

-Wins: 9
-ERA: 2.78
-WHIP: 1.21
-Batting Average Against: .208
-Runs Allowed: 47
-Earned Runs Allowed: 38
-Saves: 7

Among those, earned runs allowed ranks 16th in the country, hits allowed per nine ranks 25th and ERA ranks 31st.

There were plenty of strong individual efforts to lead a trio of BIG EAST statistical leaders:
-OBP – Chris Rotondo: .485
-Starting Pitcher ERA – Gordon Graceffo: 1.42
-Innings Pitched – Jimmy Kingsbury: 26.1
