Villanova (2-4) dropped its third home game in a row on Wednesday afternoon, falling to local rival St. Joseph's (4-2) 16-9.

Seven different Wildcat players scored in the game, led by junior attack
Brittany Bruno and senior midfielder
Kim McDonough who both had two goals and two assists.

Adeline Fischer each tallied scores of their own.

Tashalis' goal was her first of the season in her second-ever collegiate start at midfield.

Sydney Frank also each had an assist in the game.

Kelsey Mentzer and
Libby McKenna each recorded a team-high two groundballs, while Frank also had a team-high six draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Alexa Moro made 12 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Villanova struck first, going up 1-0 early over the Hawks after a goal from Rosati on a pass from Trojan.
Â
After three consecutive goals from St. Joesph's, Comerford and Trojan scored back-to-back goals, making the score even at three with a little more than 18 minutes remaining in the first half.

Things got out of hand quickly after for the Wildcats, with the Hawks scoring five unanswered goals to make the score 8-3.

Bruno temporary stopped the scoring frenzy, netting a goal off of a pass from Fisher a minute from halftime.

Villanova went into the break down 9-4.

McDonough and Bruno scored the first two goals of the second half, cutting the Hawks' lead down to three.

St. Joseph's recovered quickly, going on the offensive and scoring three back-to-back goals to make the score 12-6.

McDonough, Fischer and Tsahalis scored the last three goals of the day for Villanova.

This is the second year in a row that the Wildcats have fallen to the Hawks. St. Joseph's now holds the 12-11 advantage in the all-time series record.
