VILLANOVA, Pa.—Following the release of the schedule formats for several sports and the dates for BIG EAST championships in the coming months, Villanova Athletics announced on Thursday that its existing precautions for all athletic events will continue until further notice. These precautions include all home events being closed to members of the general public, including student-athlete families and current Villanova students.
 
Athletic contests and competitions will be limited to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials and other essential personnel as determined by Villanova Athletics. This will be the case for both on-campus and off-campus events, and applies to competition, practices, and any other Villanova Athletics functions.
 
The health protocols that are in place are designed to protect the health and safety of the campus community. These precautions have allowed Villanova to return to athletic competition in men's and women's basketball, as well as to put plans in place for each of the Wildcats varsity programs to have a season that salvages a meaningful experience for the student-athletes while providing the opportunity to compete for postseason play.
