Villanova, Pa.- The No. 18 Villanova Wildcats fell to the No. 9 Georgetown Hoyas 16-1 in both team's season opener.

Matt Campbell netted the first goal of the game at the 9:09 mark of the first quarter. The middie ran in and was able to take the ball across the field and score.Â
Georgetown's Jake Carraway, who finished with a game high nine points on eight goals and one assist, picked up three of this points on the Hoya's three goals in the first. Georgetown went on to net four in the second, five in the third, and four in the fourth.
- Campbell, Corey McManus, and Colin Crowley placed two shots on goal each. Villanova finished with 28 shots, with 10 of those coming in the second quarter. Â
- Will Vitton got the start in goal and finished with six saves through the first three quarters. Brendan Haggerty closed out the final 15 between the posts and had three saves.Â
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, February 27
th at Marquette. First faceoff in Milwaukee is scheduled for 12:00 P.M.
