Philadelphia, Pa- The Villanova women's lacrosse team fell to the Temple Owls 17-2 on Friday afternoon.
The Owls held the Wildcats scoreless through the first half while they netted 13 goals. Belle Mastropietro scored five goals during that opening 30 minutes and Megan Hoffman had three of her own for Temple.
Villanova opened the second half with their first goal when
Alexa Tsahalis dished it to
Haley Driscoll to get the Wildcats on the board. At the 17:12 mark of the second half
Adeline Fischer set up
Caroline Phelps for Villanova's second goal of the game. The Owls netted four in the second half to make the final 17-2.
Mary Alice Collins came into goal just over 10 minutes into the game and finished with 10 saves and four ground balls. Villanova took 11 shots and placed 10 of those on goal. Both Phelps and
Kate Springer placed both of their shots on goal.
The Wildcats will return to action on Wednesday, March 3
rd when they host Loyola. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. at Villanova Stadium.
